Raihan Sayeed is a pre-med and business student at Loyola University Chicago
Throughout his life, Raihan Sayeed has volunteered for a myriad of
organizations. Before he began high school, he traveled to rural India
for a week every year to teach and motivate children at Crescent High
School; he remained with the program for six years and earned a
community service certificate for his achievements in aiding
underprivileged children. In another educational initiative, Raihan Sayeed
taught English as a Second Language students at the low-income parochial
SUFFAH Educational and Guidance Center in Chicago and obtained a letter
of recognition award. While attending Lincoln-Way East High School, he
assisted the faculty and new pupils by functioning as a Student
Ambassador for transfer students.
During the summers of 2006 and 2008, Raihan Sayeed joined American
Charities. One assignment featured him creating care packages for
victims of Hurricane Katrina. This activity earned him a letter of
recognition for his volunteer work. Indian Minority Relief &
Charities (IMRC), a group that seeks to eliminate poverty in India,
benefited from Sayeed’s assistance in 2009. While with the IMRC, Raihan
Sayeed promoted the charity organization’s mission and fundraising
activities. He also volunteered at the Al-Kareem Welfare Society in
India in 2008 and 2009, where he assisted rural Indians with free
medical care and health education.
Interested in the medical profession, Raihan Sayeed also offers his
services to healthcare organizations. At Vital Home and Health Care,
Inc., he provided data entry assistance and received accolades for his
work. Currently, he works at St. James Hospital and Health Centers in
Chicago, where he aids doctors, patients, and the medical staff on a
regular basis. Supplementing his hands-on experience, Raihan Sayeed
enrolled at Loyola University Chicago in 2010 to study business and
pre-med.
